Frances’s art career began in grade school winning a school competition. After receiving her college degree as a fine art major she pursued painting murals in private homes, commercial buildings and hospitals. Better Homes and Gardens, Paint Décor and Decorate with Paint Magazines have published feature articles and photos of her work. When scaffolding and ladders became too much to handle, she changed to fine art painting using mixed media. She has studied under various well known painters, one being Sal Moccia from New York. Today, Frances’s mixed media paintings are interpretative with bold use of color and styles. She employs various techniques and especially enjoys figurative drawing and painting.

Artist Statement My art has been through an evolution of growth in various mediums from tightly detailed pencil drawings, the boldness of acrylics, then on to the vibrant flow of watercolors. As an eternal student I am on a quest to please myself and master the medium at hand. Constant growth and change keeps art alive and exciting for me. The goal for my painting is large, bold, and interpretative in expression.

Each person sees art differently so I feel an inner joy when someone connects with what’s “a part of me.” Each day I give gratitude for the passionate journey I found to express myself through art.
